* NO SCIENCE TO GOODBYE is as much about the New Zealand landscape and how it shapes us as people as it is about the three particular people in the play. Set amongst the Southern Lakes, Wilson gives voice to the ever-changing lake, and its reflection of those who live around it.
* Writer Annabel Wilson is an up and coming talent to watch. Last year she was the recipient of the New Zealand Pacific Studio R.A.K Mason Fellowship; and the Ubud Writers and Readers Festival / AAWP Emerging Writer’s Prize. This year she has just been awarded a Robert Lord Writers’ Cottage residency. She is the real deal with an interest in writing for film, theatre and prose. Her next project is the prequel to No Science To Goodbye – which has a working title of Todo Verano.
*DJ and Jazz musician Cory Champion has expanded his repertoire to sound designer for the production, crafting an atmospheric masterpiece full of woozy synths and delicate percussion, enveloping the audience as surely as the mountains do the lakes. Understated yet powerful, I predict more theatrical work in his future!
* The cast of NO SCIENCE TO GOODBYE are certainly faces you will be seeing more of. Both Frankie Berge (Elsie) and Calvin Petersen (Sam) are graduates of Toi Whakaari, and familiar faces around Wellington. Calvin in particular is known for his work with the 48hours Filmmaking Competition; whilst Frankie is just about to head up to Auckland for an exciting opportunity there. Rounding out the cast is Chris Tempest, known to many as John Gallagher the Shortland Street bomber. Experienced on stage as well as on screen, his distinctive voice makes him perfect for the role of Frank.
* This is your last chance. Don’t miss it.
