It’s Friday, we’re in love! This week, ONmag tips out the handbag of Willis York‘s creative duende, the award-winning hair stylist Bex Brent. We discover her inspirations and life views plus what’s hot and not for Autumn.

The best thing about Friday is… That everyone is in a good mood and a little bit more daring or reckless.

Which living person do you most admire? That’s hard because it’s an endless list… starting with Sam Mcknight – a legendary session stylist.

What’s the most important lesson life has taught you? Choose wisely what you feed your mind, always look for a half full glass (of wine!), and treat your body like a temple. Trust that everything is in its place.

Define creativity. Elusive and beautiful.

If we tipped out your handbag, what would we find?

You can tell a lot by a lady's handbag. PHOTO: Rebecca Brent.

My handbag is full of: bath salts and Wiki face spray, Hema day cream, M.A.C lipstick, Karen Walker sunglasses (from 47frocks) , reading glasses , perfume, a Grayson Perry exhibition ticket, my wallet, keys on a giant key ring (I’m a big key loser) and unfinished letters to friends.

Who would play you in the movie of your life?

Robin Wright.

What would your autobiography be called?

My autobiography would be a photo book of the polaroids I have been taking since time began… called “BB”. You can turn those letters into anything!

What’s ON for Autumn?

For me, it’s wearing pretty frilled blouses everywhere and planning winter escapes.

What’s OFF?
Not changing with the seasons. Cut your hair, change your hair colour, wear a different shade of lipstick, move your house around… Read the signs: the earth is changing colours and slowing down; so should you!
